National Prevention Program
The goal of the National Prevention Program is to reduce the complications of bleeding disorders. The NPP’s theme is “Do the 5”:
- Get an annual comprehensive check-up at a hemophilia treatment center
- Get vaccinated Hepatitis A and B are preventable
- Treat bleeds early and adequately
- Exercise to protect your joints
- Get tested regularly for blood borne infections
First Step is a program that welcomes families of infants and young children into the bleeding disorder clinics.
First Step organizes small get-togethers in which new families can receive education and can meet other families with similar challenges. New families can also be linked trhough a new family mentoring program.
Project Red Flag is an awareness campaign related to bleeding disorders in women.
College Scholarships
The hemophilia community is fortunate to have abundant scholarships available to current and future college students with bleeding disorders to help them get the education they need to live the lives they dream.
